Dr Roger Lee, B Med (Hons) completed his undergraduate training at Newcastle University in 1993. He then worked at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney as an intern, resident and registrar from 1993 until 1996. Advanced training in gastroenterology was undertaken from 1997 to 1999 at The Canberra Hospital and then John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle.
After obtaining his Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians he worked as an Intensive Care Fellow at the Liver Transplant Unit at King’s College Hospital, London in 2000/2001. He returned to Australia in May 2001 and started clinical practice at Calvary Hospital and had continued to work from Calvary Clinic since then.
Dr Lee has been part of the Division of Medicine since 2001 being actively involved in the care of general medicine inpatients (both public and private) as well as doing on-call roster commitments. He provides a 24hr endoscopy after hours service with a number of other gastroenterologists at Calvary Hospital.
Dr Lee is actively involved in colorectal cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease and functional gut disorders. He established a double balloon enteroscopy referral service at Calvary Hospital in 2008 that has provided both diagnostic and therapeutic treatment options for patient with small bowel pathology.
Dr Lee is a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia as well as an International Member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
